Description
The Lord Mountbatten restaurant is part of historic hotel Le Colonial, built in 1506 for the Portuguese governor. The restaurant is open to outside guests exclusively through advance telephone reservation. At lunchtime, you may request the set menu and choose between Indian or international cuisines and let the Chef surprise you. Alternatively, you may choose from a selection of A la Carte salads and dishes. Dinner consists of a 3 course set menu starting with the Chef's delicious home-made soup of the day, is followed by a choice of Indian or continental main course and ends with one of the chef's special desserts, generally accompanied by a scoop of ice cream made on the premises with the establishment's own grown coconuts from nearby Cherai Beach. Fresh seafood platters must be ordered in advance and are only available depending on the catch of the day. On Christmas and New Years' Eve the restaurant serves a 5 course festive Gala dinner preceded by cocktails in the living room.
