ARAKU is India’s first coffee to shape the complete seed-to-cup journey with flagships in Paris and Bangalore. It's the first terroir-mapped coffee to also champion the world’s largest certified organic plantation in the Eastern Ghats of India. Araku, in Andhra Pradesh.
Inspired by this beginning, the future vision is called Arakunomics, another name for food economics. The PQR framework - profit for farmers, quality food and regenerative agriculture will be the bedrock of this food system. This socio-economic framework won The Rockefeller Foundation’s prestigious Food Vision 2050 Prize.
Arakunomics has positively impacted 300,000+ farmers. The brand has worked towards raising the net profit 5x times since 2006 per household. Over 100,000 tribal lives have changed, 25,000 micro coffee estates won global acclaim, 30 million trees have been planted, and 1,100 villages have adopted the conscientious Arakunomics model. We have mapped an entire mountain range spanning over 700 villages; collected key soil and weather indicators for each parcel of land, and plotted them on a map to demarcate distinct terroirs.
The ARAKU experience:
The first outlet store in Bangalore is a space that is home to India’s first-ever Modbar, exceptional coffee that is 100% Arabica, fine food, an internationally recognised coffee academy, a dedicated manual brewing station and a curated bookstore.
Spread across 5,000 sq ft and two levels, a fully sustainable vision comes to life: bamboo chandeliers, recycled paper and clay planters, recycled metal shelves and more. A farm-to-table approach is what encapsulates the food served at ARAKU Coffee, the dishes are globally inspired, traceable and made using chiefly organic ingredients.
ARAKU team has Manoj Kumar - Chief Executive Officer (Naandi Foundation), Co-founder (ARAKU Coffee); David Hogg - Chief Agriculture Advisor (Naandi Foundation), Aditi Dugar – Chief Brand Advisor, Retail & Lifestyle (ARAKU Coffee), Rahul Sharma - Head Chef (ARAKU Coffee), and Sherri Johns - Coffee Mentor, Head Judge of Gems of Araku (ARAKU Coffee).
